Roadside Attraction

Wow! I love this album I can't wait to tell you about it!

After I released Instar, I had a week where I was SO afraid I would never be able to write another song again (for some reason, idk what I was on abt). Then I drove to New York with some pals and I thought about all the roadtrips I've been on that have impacted me and how much poetry there is in that concept. I got home and wrote the title track the next day.

I am someone who loves to put the cart before the horse when it comes to putting together creative projects. I almost didn't take myself seriously when I started to come up with the album concept surrounding just this one road trip song. But I kept writing and what came out was undeniably music about hitting the road and dealing with the consequences. It was clear that my next album was going to be Roadside Attraction, I just had to put it together.
In the summer of 2025, I played Roadside Attraction songs at gigs and open mics, where people would come up to me and ask where they could hear them. Ooops! You can't!

It became very clear that I needed to record these songs, even if they were just demos and not the big, sweeping pop/rock songs that I envisioned them being, but couldn't create without a full band.

So that's what I did!
So I recorded the songs in my friend's house while they were on vacation. I did almost the whole thing with a broken audio box which was just as infuriating as you'd think it would be. I mixed it myself too, and then sent the demos off to some pals to give input. So much of this project was done on my own, but so much collaborative love went into it at the same time.

My dad did pretty much all the photography/videography for the album. Lots of the media is from roadtrips we've been on, but a few were real photoshoots which were really fun! His friend had this beautiful pinky orange convertible and we really just went to town with an iPhone camera!
I did all the cover art collages myself, with ephemera I had in my room. It pays to hold on to every single scrap of paper you've ever come across!
But yeah, I'm really proud of all the album visuals I think they are so brilliantly me and they reflect the music really beautifully.

Oh my god and then we went on tour. And what a time that was! I had so much fun couch surfing with my friends who are not only insanely talented, but who are also always down for an adventure.

We planned the tour in less than a month, after we realized how deeply we missed making music together.

When we set out for our two weeks on the road, we had maybe 3 shows booked? I was SO nervous that it would be the biggest waste of time ever and we wouldn't end up playing hardly at all. When we got home two weeks later, we'd played 10 shows that we'd managed to book while on the road, meeting strangers who had places for us to play and what not. We even got pulled off the street to play a stanger's birthday party because we happened to have our instruments in our hands!

We managed to do all but one night of the the tour couch surfing, and I promise you, the night we spent at a hotel was by far the worst night of sleep any of us got the whole time.

We have lots of footage of this whole trip, so maybe soon you will be able to experience it too :)

So yeah, Roadside Attraction is very very precious so me. One day, I hope to revisit these songs and take them out of the bedroom pop world and turn them into songs fit to fill an arena. I think if you listen with that in mind, the skeletons will become very apparent lol. Well, maybe not every song, there are some real downers on there. But you know what I mean.
If you're a musician and/or a producer and you feel like you hear these skeletons too and wanna start to make them real... you know where to find me :)

Until then, I hope you find something that speaks to you in Roadside Attraction. I hope it can keep you company during long car rides, sleepless nights, and triumphant adventures. Thanks for listening xoxo
